Founded in 2003, this broad-based coalition is led by an 11-member Steering Council comprised of two elected officials from the county, two elected officials from the city, a representative from the Regional Economic Area Partnership, two representatives from the Metro Chamber of Commerce and four business leaders elected from the private-sector Board of Investors.

About The Economic Development Council

Housed and staffed by the Chamber of Commerce, the council is focused on expanding the city's commercial & industrial base through aggressive business retention, expansion and recruitment activities. Assistance with available buildings or parcels of industrial land, custom economic research, state and local financing incentives and one-stop advocacy are available - both to our existing industries seeking to expand or become more competitive, or to outside companies exploring relocation opportunities.
