The Vicksburg-Warren County area is within overnight delivery of the Middle South Market that encompasses over 55 million people and 76 metropolitan areas. This area has been determined to be one of the fastest growing areas in the United States in the next 20 years.
The Port of Vicksburg has twenty-one businesses and industries operating at the Port employing over 4,000 employees. The Port is a designated Foreign Trade Zone, Port of Entry, and maintains a United States Customs service. The Foreign Trade Zone recently acquired sub-zone status for Nissan and is in the process of providing sub-zone status to two premier Nissan suppliers located in Warren County: CalsonicKansei North America and Yorozu Automotive Mississippi, Inc. Plans are in place to expand the General-Purpose Zone, which will make it one of the largest in the United States.
The public terminal facilities include 129,000 square feet of insured, sprinkled space and open concrete storage, a T-dock with a 125-ton crane, an all weather overhead crane with two 15-ton lifts. The railroad and road loop through the facilities allowing all weather loading and unloading with the overhead crane. The Warren County Port Commission has received a federal grant to upgrade and replace the overhead crane, resurface the road, replace the rail and loop and add an additional rail spur through the Port of Vicksburg. Warren County is intersected by an excellent highway system. U.S. Highway 80 and Interstate 20 run parallel in an east/west direction. Both thoroughfares intersect U.S. Highway 61 that runs north/south. The only four lane interstate bridge between Memphis, Tennessee and Baton Rouge, Louisiana crosses the Mississippi River at Vicksburg. The junction of Interstate 20 and Interstate 55 is located only 40 miles from Vicksburg in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Vicksburg Municipal Airport, eight miles southwest of the city, is a full service facility with a 5,000 foot by 100 foot lighted runway and NDB instrument approach. Aircraft repair and jet fuel services are also available.
Commercial airline service is available at the Jackson International Airport. This facility is located 53 miles east of Vicksburg on Interstate 20.
Greyhound Bus Lines maintains a terminal in Vicksburg and offers both passenger and parcel service.
Over 20 motor freight carriers are licensed to serve Warren County on a regular basis. Three carrier companies maintain terminals in the area.
